Joan H. Zellner

Joan H. Zellner, age 82 of Buford, GA, died Monday, January 13, 2014 after an extended illness.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel. Rev. Melvin J. Everson will officiate. Interment will follow in Hamilton Mill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to Gwinnett Republican Party or Peachtree Christian Hospice. Ms. Zellner was preceded in death by her parents John W. Harrington and Edith Newton Harrington. She is survived by her Son, Ron W. Zellner, Buford. Granddaughter, Adriane Z. Dail and Husband Wayne, Buford. Great Grandchildren, Ryan and Peyton Dail, Buford. Brother, John W. Harrington Jr., Jonesboro. Nieces and Nephews, Cindy Pepper, Jon Harrington, and Brian Harrington, Jonesboro. Ms. Zeller was born in Atlanta and was a lifelong resident of the area. She retired from Transamerica Insurance Co. as a Senior Bond Underwriter after 38 years. She joined the Gwinnett County Republican Party in 1982 serving in numerous capacities. She was a Gwinnett County delegate to the National GOP Convention in Tampa, FL in 2012. She was appointed to the Gwinnett County Board of Voter Registration and Elections in 1992 and served as chairman for 4 terms. She was also a founding member of Greater Gwinnett Republican Women, GFRW, and had served from 1989 to 2012.
