James Marshall Law, 82, of Mountain City, GA, passed away January 11, 2014. He was born in Rabun County and was the son of Clyde Law and Lassie Taylor Law.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Ralph Thomas Law and a sister, Evelyn Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Flossie Faye James Law; two sons, James David Law of Buford, GA, Kenneth Wayne Law and his wife Wanda of Dacula, GA; one daughter, Nancy Lee Law Hooper and her husband Daniel of Lawrenceville, GA; three brothers, Ted Law of Rabun Gap, GA, Albert Law of Clayton, GA, Wayne Law of Birmingham, AL; one sister, Sarah Walch of Arlington, TX. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Marshall Hooper, Darren Hooper, Burton Law, and Lindsey Law.
James was a member of Blue Heights Baptist Church and was a Deacon and Sunday School teacher for fifty years. He was also the owner, operator of Law's Grocery in Mountain City and was City Clerk for Mountain City for 38-1/2 years and Treasurer of Rabun County Baptist Association for many years. He farmed for many years and also drove a school bus for ten years and was a member of Woodmen of the World and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home from 5 PM to 8 PM, Monday, January 13, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Blue Heights Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Hunnicutt and Rev. Gabe Southards officiating. Burial will follow in Rabun Memory Park.
