Bernice Mize Danzy

Ms. Bernice Mize Danzy age 77 of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday January 08, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Home going celebration will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church with interment to follow in Church Cemetery. Pastor Keith Jones will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday January 10, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.


Ms. Danzy was born on March 22, 1937 in Gillsville, Georgia to the late Samuel G. Mize and Lelia Buffington Mize. She was retired from Leece-Neville Company in Gainesville as a machine operator a worked many other jobs during her career and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir up until her illness. Bernice was a mother of the community where her home was everyone's home and everyone was welcome.


Bernice leaves to rejoice her home going, two precious daughters, Inge Brown of Gainesville, and Barbara Danzy of Decatur, two caring grandsons whom she loved dearly with all her heart, Austin Brown and Alex Brown, her one and only son-in-law, Austin Clenton Brown, whom he's been more than a son-in-law, he is a true son and a man with a heart of God. Thank you Clent, two devoted brothers, Floyd Mize and Dorsey (Shirley) Mize, Three sisters, Claudine Randolph, Daisy Brown and Wynonia Moss, sisters-in-law, Martha Mize, daughter of the heart, Belinda Barksdale, Nana's extra's Raysena, Zymyia, Zymeia Hall, and Nolan "Olan" Carter, My special friend Florentina Condes and very special thank you to Free Chapel Worship Center, and a host of other relatives and family members survive




The family would like to also thanks Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church for their love and support during this time of grief.
