Ernestine Whitmire Bennett

Mrs. Ernestine Whitmire Bennett, 90 of Gainesville died Thursday January 9, 2014 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

A native of Dawson County, Mrs. Bennett had lived in Hall County for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Gober and Ida Mae Whelchel Whitmire,and had worked as a receptionist for Whit & Bobbie's Beauty Shop for a number of years. Mrs. Bennett was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Dawson County.

Survivors her sons, Michael Bennett and Melanie; Donald Bennett, grandson, Troy Bennett, all of Gainesville; brother and sister-in-law; Whit and Ann Whitmire, Gainesville; sister and brother-in-law, Lou and Jim Merritt, Cleveland.

Mrs. Bennett is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Troy Bennett, sister, Mildred Westry and brothers, Albert Whitmire and Jimmy Whitmire.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 11, 2014 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Stephen Davis will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cross Roads Baptist Church Cemetery in Forsyth County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday January 11,2014 from noon until 2:00 p.m.
