Bond Moore Harris,

Mrs. Bond Moore Harris, age 89 of 606 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2014 at the Clary Care Center of Toccoa.

A daughter of the late Dr. Louis Doyle and Ione Bond Moore, she was born December 17, 1924 in Royston, Georgia having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church having served as a Kindergarten Teacher for some 35 years, life member of the Administrative Board, the Pastor Parish Committee, the UMW and the Ladies Bible Class. She was a member of the DAR, UDC, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Toccoa Cotillion, member of the Toccoa-Stephens County Chamber of Commerce, the Stephens County Historical Society serving on the board and a volunteer in the museum and the Toccoa Orchestra Guild. She was a former Leader of Toccoa Camp Fire Girls, former member of the Cherokee Garden Club, the Stephens County American Cancer Society and former Cub Scout Den Mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Robert H. Harris in 1979.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Reverend Timothy Squire of Johns Island, South Carolina; son and daughter-in-law, John Robert and Andrea Harris of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Robert Hunter Harris, William Hanson Harris, James Samuel Squire and Elizabeth Bond Squire.

Funeral services will be Saturday, January 11, 1 O'clock PM at the First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Timothy Squire and the Reverend Dr. John Brown, Jr. officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers, Robert Hunter Harris, William Hanson Harris and James Samuel Squire.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 AM until noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 333 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577, the Stephens County Cancer Society, c/o Jerry Snell, 575 Rosedale Street, Toccoa, Georgia 30577 or the Stephens County Historical Society, 160 N. Alexander Street, Toccoa, Georgia in memory of Mrs. Bond Moore Harris.
