Frances Leckie Puckett

Obituary Date: Tuesday, January 7, 2014


Frances Leckie Puckett, age 93 of Hoschton, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 10, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Marshall Dale and Reverend Cory Sexton will officiate. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 9, 2014 from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Puckett was born December 6, 1920 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Jessie Harland Leckie and Katie Belle Stewart Leckie. She was retired from Leece-Neville and was a graduate of Oakwood High School. Frances was very proud to tell people she also played basketball for Oakwood. She was a charter member of McEver Road United Methodist Church. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arthur Edwin Puckett, her daughter, Kay Bennett, her grandson, Tim Bennett and her six sisters.

Mrs. Puckett is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Pat & Charles Croy of Buford and Jenifer & Larry Busby of Hoschton, sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie & Kay Puckett of Murrayville and Phil & Brenda Puckett of Cleveland, son, Gregg Puckett of Gainesville, 11 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and brother, Larry Leckie of Oakwood.
