James L. Tomaszewski,

Mr. James L. Tomaszewski, age 70, of Flowery Branch, GA passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2014. He is survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Linda Stacey Tomaszewski, Flowery Branch, GA; children, Laura Lund, Gainesville, VA, Becki and Nigel Ashton, Lawrenceville, GA and Jennifer and James Stockdill, Cumming, GA; twelve grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Gloria Tomaszewski, Metamora, MI; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mr. Tomaszewski was born June 14, 1943 in Flint, MI. He was a 1961 graduate of Flint Northern High School and a 1971 graduate of the University of Michigan. Although his career was in telecom, in retirement his passion was landscaping and he owned J.T. Landscape Design. He was a member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church where he was also a Sunday school teacher and a faithful choir member. He was one of the founding board members for Gospel Opportunities, Inc.; a Christian radio station in Marquette, MI. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Shadowbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Linkous officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Gospel Opportunities, Inc., 130 Carmen Drive, Marquette, Michigan 49855-9200 or Shadowbrook Baptist Church, 4187 Suwanee Dam Road, Suwanee, GA 30024 or The Gideons International.
