Hala Othell Jarrard

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Hala Othell Jarrard, age 89 of Cleveland. Mrs. Jarrard passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00pm, Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dave Fortner and Rev. Henry Loggins officiating, interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Jarrard was born in White County on August 24, 1924 to the late Spencer Roper and Cona Nix Roper. She spent her life in White County and was a homemaker, she did however, work for Piedmont Drugs in Gainesville for a short time. Born at time when hard work was the norm not the exception, Mrs. Jarrard worked to provide Christ centered loving home for her family. She was truly an example of a virtuous woman. She could always be found reading her Bible, this was the example that she always wanted to be for her children and those she met along the way. On September 22, 1945, she married the love of her life, Johnny Jarrard, she would be married to him for 54 years before his passing in 1999.
Mrs. Jarrard is survived by her sons and daughters in law , J.T. and Norma Jarrard of Monroe, Logan and Bonnie Jarrard, Cleveland, David and Lisa Jarrard; sons, Barry Jarrard and Billy Jarrard both of Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, daughters and sons in law, Brillian and Joel Ray, Snellville, Terry and Roy Reed of Cleveland and Jenny and Morris Harrison of Cornelia ; sisters Norell Clark of California and Inell Adams of Cleveland . Mrs. Jarrard is also survived by her 42 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 to 4 pm and again from 6 to 8 pm.
