Hazel Marie Saft

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church for Mrs. Hazel Wiltse Saft age 104 of Flowery Branch. The Rev. John Batusic, Rev. Ben Phillips and Rev. Robert Bradbury will officiate. The family will receive friends Saturday January 11, 2014 from 10:00 am to 10:45 a.m. at Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Saft passed away Friday January 3, 2014


Hazel was born December 27, 1909 to Mahlon and Estella Wiltse in Rutland, N.Y. a town in northern New York State. She was the youngest of nine children, all preceding her in death. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Joseph Saft in 1986. She has been a member of Onondaga Hill Presbyterian Church in N.Y. Since 1953, and has been attending Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church since moving to Flowery Branch over 3 years ago. She loved children, and procured a state license to care for over 100 children, many of whom lived at her home in Onondaga Hill, N.Y.

She is survived by her daughters Beverly Bradbury of Flowery Branch, GA, Sheila Tucker, Auburn, N.Y., Sharon Kirkby, Chicago, IL., Son, Joseph Bradley Saft, Greenville, SC, 2 Foster Daughters, Barbara McGinley of Syracuse, N.Y., and Kris Williams, Syracuse, N.Y., 22 Grandchildren, 37 Great Grandchildren and 7 Great Great Grandchildren.
