Walter 'J.R.' Roberts, Jr

Walter "J.R." Roberts, Jr., age 72 of Flowery Branch, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.


Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, January 5, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Reverend Wayne Hicks and Reverend Brian Kinney will officiate. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 6 - 9 pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Roberts was born November 24, 1941 in Jackson County, Georgia to the late Walter Roberts, Sr. and Kathleen Evans Roberts. He was retired from Chicopee Manufacturing and attended New Haven Congregational Holiness Church. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters, Dee Hamilton and Brenda Carter and his brother, Paul Roberts.

Mr. Roberts is survived by his wife of 20 years, Sandra Roberts of Flowery Branch, son & daughter-in-law, Chad & Christy Truelove of Jefferson, grandson, Mason Truelove, sister & brother-in-law, Elizabeth & John Bruce of Gainesville, brother & sister-in-law, Austin & Cindy Roberts of Jefferson, brother-in-law, James Carter of Homer and several nieces and nephews.
