Grady Fornia 'Bill' Faulkner

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Grady Fornia "Bill" Faulkner, of 88, of Oakwood, Ga., who passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013.



Mr. Faulkner was born in Barberton, Ohio, a son of the late Fornia Grady and Ora Louise Walden Faulkner. Mr. Faulkner was a veteran of the United States Marines Corps, serving in WWII and in Okinawa, Japan, where he was the recipient of the Purple Heart Award. Mr. Faulkner retired from Lockheed Martin with 21 years of service and was later Self Employed as an Electronics Technician. Mr. Faulkner was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Faulkner was preceded in death by a son Charles Faulkner a daughter, Bonnie Smith, sister, Nelle Gee, and brothers, J.C., Bob, Ronnie and Buddy Faulkner.



Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Johnson Faulkner, Oakwood, Ga., daughter, Katherine "Kitty" Yonce, Athens, Ga., son, David Faulkner, Oakwood, Ga., sisters, Peggy Shirley, Jefferson, Ga., and Helen Brown, Acworth, Ga., 5 Grand Children, 6 Great Grand Children, and a number of other relatives.



Funeral services will be held Thursday January 2, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Woodbine Cemetery with Jody Smith, Scott Blankenship, Kiley Blankenship, Gerry Faulkner, Todd Samples, and Kenny Gee honored as pallbearers. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at Evans Funeral Home from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M.
