Laura Law Baker

Laura Law Baker, 78, of Mountain City, GA, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.



She was born in Ft. Pierce, Florida and was the daughter of William Charles and Elizabeth Greene Law.



In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edwin John Baker and a sister, Patsy Law. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Southard of Vero Beach, FL and Holly Newman of Mountain City, GA; two sisters, Ann Prevatt of Jacksonville, FL and Gerry Hughes of Lake Weir, FL. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Brooke Southard, Heather Auchter, Gary Baker, Darian Newman, and Derek Newman.; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob Auchter, Ashton Baker, and Tylon Johnson.



Mrs. Baker was a floral designer and was one of the founders of Heathcote Botanical Gardens and was a member of St. Lucie County Garden Club and Bridge Club. She was also a member of Liberty Baptist Church.



A Memorial Service will be held in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 2, 2014 with Rev. Alton Dendy officiating.
