Cora Puckett Thompson Whiteside

Cora Puckett Thompson Whiteside, age 88, of Alto, Georgia passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013.

Mrs. Whiteside was born on November 25, 1925 in Banks County, Georgia; daughter of the late Robert and Martha Brown Puckett. She was the widow of Frankie Whiteside and was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Sanford Thompson; sons, William James Thompson and Royce Edward Thompson. Mrs. Whiteside was of the Congregational Holliness faith and was a homemaker.

Survivors include daughter, Jean Franklin, Alto; sons and daughters-in-law, Melvin and Janell Thompson, Lula, Sanford and Dianne Thompson, Alto, Bobby and Marty Thompson, Alto; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Whiteside was the last member of her immediate family.

Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Scott Ledbetter and Pastor Stacey Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Baldwin City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013.
