Jonathan Merritt Brister

Brother Jonathan Merritt Brister, age 40, of Dahlonega, GA passed away December 26, 2013.

John was born in Cumming, GA May 19, 1973. He had lived in Lumpkin County since 2000. He was a truck driver with Robinson Hauling Company and was a member of Dahlonega Church of God.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Marsha Elaine Barnes; his father, George Brister; and his grandparents.

John is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Tracy Brister; son Cole Brister; and daughter, Chelsea Hatfield, all of Dahlonega, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Shane and Bonnie Conner, Cumming, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Heather and David Waters, Dawsonville, GA, Stephanie Brister, Gainesville, GA; mother-in-law, Frances Diane Garrison, Dahlonega, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Frances and Bradley Gilreath; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Nathan and Nancy Bagwell, Jess and Kristie Bagwell, all of Dahlonega, GA; and a special cousin, best friend, Tommy and Andrea Linder, Dahlonega, GA; and several other family members and friends.

Funeral services for John are scheduled for 2 PM Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega.

Rev. Larry Henry, Rev. Lyman Caldwell, and Rev. Junior Evans will officiate.

Interment will follow in Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 4 PM until 9 PM, all day on Saturday, December 28, 2013, and again on Sunday until time of the service.
