James Daniel (Danny) Banks

Mr. James Daniel "Danny" Banks, 64, of Lula, Ga. passed away Thursday December 26, 2013.

A native of Hall County he was born on December 9, 1949 he was the son of the late James J. Banks, Jr. and Mary Wiley Banks. He served in the Army during Vietnam in The Big Red One Division. During his service he was awarded the following honors: The Republic of Vietnam Service Campaign, National Defense, Army Good Conduct and the Bronze Star. Mr. Banks attended Lula First Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Banks is preceded in death by his father in law, William E. Burkhalter; grandparents, Guy and Thelma Wiley and John Sr. and Bessie Banks.

He is survived by wife, Denise Burkhalter Banks of Lula; son, William Justin Banks of Lula; daughter and son in law, Amanda dawn and Jeff Sheriff of Clarkesville; sister, Gail Watson of Lula; mother in law, Lovada Burkhalter of Lula and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at 3:16 p.m. Saturday December 28, 2013 at Lula First Baptist Church. Rev. Jimmy Hudson and Rev. James Duncan will officiate. Interment will be at west View Cemetery in Lula. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
