Lanier "Lenny" Waddell

Lanier "Lenny" Waddell, age 65, of Flowery Branch passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his father, James P. Waddell. He is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Ann Marshall Waddell, Flowery Branch, GA; children, Devin and Genette Waddell, Flowery Branch, GA, Leisa Hardage, Clarkston, GA, Debbie and Brian Mott, Gainesville, GA and Jennifer and Donnie Johnston, Gainesville, GA; three grandchildren, Rhya Waddell, Kell Waddell and Hayden Waddell; mother, Mary McFarland Waddell, Ellijay, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Travis and Gail Waddell, Powder Springs, GA and Neil Waddell, Ellijay, GA; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mr. Waddell was born April 2, 1948 in Ellijay, GA. He was a 1966 graduate of Gilmer County High School in Ellijay, GA. He retired from AT&T as a computer operator after thirty years of service. He was owner of Lanier Scuba Center a/k/a Aquatic Explorer's Society in Lawrenceville, GA. He was a Mason and a member of the Flowery Branch Masonic Lodge. He was a member of Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church in Chestnut Mountain, GA.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Dr. Kennedy Smartt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Eagle Ranch Children's Home, 5500 Union Church Road, Flowery Branch, GA 30542 in memory of Lanier "Lenny" Waddell.
