Elga Mincey

Elga Mincey, 86, of Dawsonville passed away Saturday December 21, 2013 at New Horizons following a period of declining health.

Born January 21, 1927 to the late Arthur and Maggie Waters, she lived her entire life in Dawson and Lumpkin counties. Elga worked many years providing in home healthcare and was also preceded in death by her daughter, Dora Mincey; brothers, Dewey Waters and Alton Waters.

Surviving are her children, Roger and Elizabeth Mincey, Dahlonega, Jerry and Marie Mincey, Dahlonega, Dolores and Ronald Bearden, Dahlonega; brother, Darrell Waters, Dawsonville; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services will be held Monday December 23, 2013 at 1 o'clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Jeff Burrell and Dr. Billy Russo will officiate. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 until 8 at the funeral home.
