Betty Mae Todd Hoyt

Mrs. Betty Mae Todd Hoyt, age 87 of Gainesville, Georgia went home to see her Lord, and her husband on Saturday, December 14, 2013.


Born in Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Hoyt lived her life in Columbus, Ohio, Huron, Ohio, Sanford, Florida and Gainesville, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Frank Edmund Todd and Helen Vashti Grant. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hoyt was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Guy Louis Hoyt, Jr., grandson, David Harvey Jones and her brothers, Theodore Grant Todd and Edmund Charles Todd.


Mrs. Hoyt was a domestic Goddess. She was an outstanding wife, homemaker, teacher and mother to her six children. She enjoyed church, gospel music, True TV and seeing all of her children's dreams come true.


Survivors include her beloved sister, Edna Louise Todd Corriveau Koehn (90) of Boca Raton, Florida. Daughters and sons; daughter & son-in-law, Claudia Hoyt Jones (Richard) of Washington, Georgia, son, Theodore William Hoyt & love (Teresa Liening) of Winston, Georgia, daughter & son-in-law, Ruby Charlotte Hoyt Arnold (Bill) of Bexley, Ohio, son & daughter-in-law, Guy Louis Hoyt, III (Peggi Sue) of Huron, Ohio, son & daughter-in-law, Timothy Francis Hoyt (Kathleen Layre) of Gainesville, Georgia and son, Jeffrey Alan Hoyt of St. Cloud, Florida; Grandchildren, Richard Alan Jones (Alicia) of Snellville, Georgia, twins, Mandy Hoyt of Apopka, Florida and Jeni Hoyt of Altamonte Springs, Florida, granddaughter, Melissa Hoyt Sullivan (Jonathan) of Columbus, Ohio, Sara Hoyt of Huron, Ohio, Marcy Sue Hoyt Johnson (Clint) of Gainesville, Georgia, Johnathan Jay Hoyt & love (Kristie Carlson) of Oakwood, Georgia, Timothy James Hoyt & love (Shayna Carlisle) of Costa Mesa, California, grandson, Justin Daniel Hoyt of Columbus, Ohio, granddaughter, Jessica Lynn Hoyt of St. Cloud, Florida, Kira Marie Weakley of Orlando, Florida, Grace Elizabeth Williams of Winter Park, Florida; Great-grandchildren, Isabelle Jones of Snellville, Georgia, Ginger Leigh Rice of Huron, Ohio, Avery Grace Johnson of Gainesville, Georgia and Hayden Tyler Mascarel of St. Cloud, Florida.


Mrs. Hoyt will be cremated at Memorial Park Funeral Home and a Graveside Service will be scheduled in the future in Sanford, Florida, when she is laid to rest at the grave of her late husband.
