William 'Bill' Franklin Helms

Dr. William (Bill) Franklin Helms, Jr., age 66, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to follow in Alta Vista Cemetery. The Reverend Joab Rico and Reverend James Dumas will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the funeral home.

Dr. Helms was born May 31, 1947 in Kentucky and was the son of the late William Franklin Helms, Sr. and Ann (Millican) Helms. Bill served in the United States Army for 10 years. Following his military service he then moved to Gainesville, Georgia where he opened his Orthodontic Practice. He enjoyed his chosen profession and loved to golf, travel and the outdoors.

Bill is survived by his fiancé, Pearl Little; step-children, Katrina Parris, Ricky Little, Jacqueline Little, Victoria Little; sister, Star Helms; and her two children.
