Joni Cash Owens Byrd

Mrs. Joni Cash Owens Byrd, age 50 of 1236 Nub Garland Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at her residence.

A daughter of Lucille Mize Cash Nix and the late J.B. Cash, she was born November 19, 1963 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a Cum Laud Graduate of Piedmont College, employed with the Bank of Toccoa during her college years, employed with Dempster for a number of years, former Realtor with Century 21 and Remax and employed with the Stephens County School System in the Nutrition Department and former mentor in the school system and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, J.B. Cash and by a brother, Larry "Bubba" Cash.

Survivors include her mother, Lucille Mize Cash Nix and step-father, Joe Nix of Toccoa; husband of the home, Jeff Byrd; son, Houston Owens of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jim Townsend of Toccoa; nieces and nephews, Bronson, Kim, Brooklyn, Jake, Jason, Megan, Ridley, Lana, Brandon, Olivia and McKinley; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles and Regina Byrd of Athens, Georgia.

Memorial service will be Wednesday, December 11, 5:30 PM at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty and the Reverend Robin Martin officiating.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 3:30 PM until the service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association (Lou Gehrig's Disease) Georgia Chapter, 1955 Cliff Valley Way, Suite 116, Atlanta, Georgia 30329 in memory of Mrs. Joni Cash Owens Byrd.
