Mrs. Ann Short Roberts Prather, 81 of Gainesville died Friday December 6, 2013.
Born in Commerce, Ga., Mrs. Prather had lived in Gainesville for all of her life. She was the daughter of the late Swayne Elliott and Helen Matthews Short. Mrs. Prather was a graduate of Gainesville High School Class of 1949 and she also attended Brenau College. She was retired from the Northeast Georgia Diagnostic Clinic where she had worked as the office manager for over 17 years. Mrs. Prather was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School class.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law; David Elliott Roberts and Karen, Flowery Branch, Ga., William Raleigh "Billy" Roberts, Jr., and Shea, St, Simons Island, Ga., Timothy Joseph Roberts and Lesia, Wilmington, North Carolina, daughter and son-in-law, Angela Roberts McKibben and Steve, Gainesville, Ga., Grandchildren, William Raleigh Roberts, III; India Shea Roberts, Zachary Bland Roberts, Sydney Ann Roberts and Patrick Taylor McKibben.
Mrs. Prather is preceded in death by her husbands, W. Raleigh Roberts and Dewey S. Prather, brother, Jack Malcom Short.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 9, 2013 in the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. Interment will follow in the Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday December 8, 2013 from 4-6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family has that memorial contributions be made to Our Faith Our Future, c/o First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, Ga. 30501 or the American Red Cross.
