Margaret Josephine Franklin Craft

Margaret Josephine Franklin Craft was welcomed home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 4, 2013, at the age of 88.
Margaret was born April 6, 1925 in Lincoln, AL where she was raised. She married in 1943 and lived in Anniston, AL. In 1957 her family moved to Chamblee, GA and then later to Cumming, GA.
Margaret began her career with the government in the early 1940's at the old Army Depot in Anniston. She was sent to Washington, DC on several occasions for extensive training. Margaret went to work with the Internal Revenue Service Center in 1961. She was a computer programmer/analyst and worked there until her retirement. After retirement, Margaret and her husband, Horace, moved permanently to Lake Lanier. She then began volunteering at then called, Baptist North (Northside Forsyth) and spent 27 years there. Margaret was also very involved in several bridge clubs over the years and just within the last couple of months had to give those up.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Horace D. Craft of 60 years. She was also preceded in death by all of her siblings; her brother, Pete Franklin; sisters, Bertalee Willingham, Sue Townsend and Mary Ruth Haynes.
Margaret's memory will always be cherished by her three children. Son, Charles (Chuck) Craft; daughters, Susan M. Craft and Sherry C. Childers. Also cherished by grandchildren, Heather M. Herrington, Lindsay M. Childers and Robert (Taylor) Childers. She is also survived by her only great grandchild, Vadil A. Scarborough.
A funeral service will be held at Ingram's Funeral Home, Cumming, GA on Saturday, December 7 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation immediately preceding at 10:00 a.m. Burial services will follow at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Anniston, AL.
