Flora Nix Garrett

Mrs. Flora Nix Garrett, age 96 of Nicholson died Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Northridge Health and Rehab Center. Mrs. Garrett was born in Homer to the late, Millege and Anner Tanner Nix. Mrs. Garrett was retired from Big Ace and was a member of New Harmony Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Garrett was also preceded in death by her husband, Victor Garrett; daughters, Lucille Barber and Betty Garrett; son, William Garrett.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her daughters, Doris Morris of Nicholson, Mary Scroggs of Colbert, Janice Tacto of Nicholson, Linda Barber of Nicholson, Ann Fields of Nicholson, and Joyce Harrison of Nicholson; son, Ralph Garrett of Athens; brother, W.C. Nix of Augusta; sisters, Kathnelle McDaniel of Greensboro, Louise Moon of Comer, and Marie Culberson of Elberton; 20 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Friday, Dec. 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Allen Seagraves officiating with the interment following in the Apple Valley Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday night from 6-8 PM.
