Blanche Thurmond McManus

Mrs. Blanche (Thurmond) McManus, age 91, of Gainesville, Georgia, formerly of Evans, GA, passed away Monday, December 02, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 pm Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with interment to be at 11:00 am Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta, GA. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 pm prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. McManus was born on January 15, 1922 in Modoc, SC and was the daughter of the late Franklin E. Thurmond and Pearle (Thurmond) Thurmond. She and her husband, Benjamin were dairy farmers in Evans, Georgia for many years. She lived most of her life in Evans, GA but the past 20 years was spent in Gainesville. She was a member of Northlake Baptist Church in Murrayville. Mrs. McManus was preceded in death by her husband Benjamin Wiley McManus; and a brother, Lloyd Thurmond.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra C. Wiley of Greenwood, SC; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Ed Price of Gainesville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Brenda Creswell of Modoc, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Wendy McManus of Thomaston, GA; and son John McManus of Gainesville; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
