Charles S. Bennett

Charles S. "Bunch" Bennett, 81, of Gainesville passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013.



Born on May 16, 1932 in Forsyth County, he was the son of the late Claude and Bell Gazaway Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He worked at Gainesville Truck Center where he was a diesel mechanic. He was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church.


In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Walls Bennett, son; Greg Bennett; 4 brothers and 1 sister.



He is survived by his daughter, Angela Betz of Jefferson; grandchildren, Katie Betz of Jefferson, Kristin Betz of Jefferson, Greg "Buck" Bennett of Gainesville, Nicole Archer of Lula, Brittany Bennett of Jefferson; great grandchildren, Dylan Lee and Hayden Lee both of Jefferson; brothers and sisters in law, Harold and Linda Bennett, Hugh Lee and Melinda Bennett both of Gainesville; sister and brother in law, Carol and Johnny Crain of Gainesville and a number of nieces and nephews.



Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday November 30, 2013 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from noon until the service hour.
