Francis Patrick (Pat) Owens

Francis Patrick "Pat" Owens, age 89, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born on March 17, 1924, in New York, he was a son of the late John and Helen Kathleen Owens. Mr. Owens served in the U.S. Navy where he retired as a Chief Petty Officer with 21 years of service. He enjoyed flying and was a private pilot.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Owens was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Smith Owens.

Survivors include son, Michael P. Owens of Weaverville, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Melvin Thompson of Demorest; grandchildren, Sarah Herold, James Thompson and Rebekah Brown.
