Frances Jane Staton Moore

Frances Jane Staton Moore, (sometimes known as Fran), passed away Friday November 22, 2013 at Tara Plantation in Cumming, GA.

Frances was born August 20, 1928 in Gainesville, GA and was the daughter of Hoyt and Ophelia Staton.

Frances was an only child but loved to be around people.

She came to Dahlonega, GA in 1945 to attend NGC. She met Henry W. Moore Jr., known as "Corky" Moore and became his wife. She later had daughters, Betsy and Margaret.

Frances loved Dahlonega and her church family of the Dahlonega United Methodist Church where she was a member since moving there. Over the span of 66 years, Fran volunteered for many duties including children's Sunday School teacher, wedding director, bereavement organizer, meal organizer, flower coordinator, choir member, and later, a member of the Prime Time Sunday school class.

Frances worked at the Lumpkin County Court House for 31 years and retired as Lumpkin County voter registrar.

Frances leaves behind her husband Corky Moore, of the home; her daughter Betsy and son-in-law Jim Cameron of Lexington, NC, and her daughter, Margaret Sosebee of Dahlonega, GA.

Frances, known as "Nannie Frances" has 6 grandchildren, Bryan Cameron and wife Rachel, David Cameron and wife Holly, Kevin Cameron, Jordan Cameron, Kimberly Sosebee Cain, and Stephanie Sosebee Sharpe and husband Matt. She also has 8 great-grandchildren, Madison Sharpe, Quinton Sharpe, Chloe Cain, Erin Cameron, Casey Cameron, Ethan Cameron, Carson Cameron, and Caroline Cameron.

A memorial service for Mrs. Moore is scheduled for 2 PM Monday, November 25, 2013 at Dahlonega United Methodist Church .

Rev. Gerry Davis and Rev. Steve Schofield will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega on Sunday November 24, 2013 from 2:00 PM until 6 PM.
