Leroy Franklin Curry

Leroy Franklin Curry, age 85, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, November, 2013. He was a member at Mayfield Baptist Church. Leroy was a former volunteer firefighter and sheet metal worker. He enjoyed working with electronics. Leroy was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Hattie Curry; brother, James Curry; sister, Betty Ward; and brother-in-law, Clayton Grier; son-in-law, Bill Savage.



Survivors include his loving wife of 64 years, Frances Curry; children, Sybil Savage of Gainesville, Freida (Stanley) Pirkle of Gainesville; grandchildren, Phillip Delong, Robert Delong, Timmy Delong, Connie Cantrell, Lacey Blackwell; great grandchildren, Andrew Cantrell, Paul Cantrell, Richard Blackwell, Hadrian Blackwell, Spencer Blackwell, Shelby & Austin Delong; brother, Doyle Curry of Grover, NC; sisters-in-law, Maudine Delong & JoAnn Smith; brothers-in-law, Erastus Grier & Herbert Grier; and other loved ones and friends also survive.



Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 24 at 2:00 p.m. and will lie in state at 1:30 p.m. at Mayfield Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Mayfield Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of the service.
