Lucky Joe Dills

Lucky Joe Dills, 67, of Lakemont, GA passed away at his residence Wednesday, November 20, 2013.

He was born in Macon County, North Carolina, and was the son of Hazel Dills who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda McClain Dills of Lakemont, two sons, Mark Dills of Wiley, GA and John Dills and his wife Donna of Eastanollee, GA; one daughter, April Dills; and three sisters, Nancy Wyke of Franklin, NC, Ida Justice of San Angelo, TX, and Nadine Martin of Bowman, GA. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Robert Dills, and Christy Dills.

Lucky was employed for many years as a fixer at Burlington Industries and at Fruit of the Loom and was a member of Battle Branch Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who were the light of his life. He also enjoyed working at the Rabun County School System where he was able to interact with all of the children who so dearly loved him. Lucky liked to travel and do yard work. He always made sure that his "Honey Do" list was completed.

The family will receive friends at Beck Funeral Home Friday, November 22, 2013 from 6 PM to 8 PM. Services will be held in the Beck Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 23, 2013 with Pastor Madison McCrackin officiating.
