Gloria May Rumsey Smith

Mrs. Gloria May Rumsey Smith, age 70 of 16 Ruby Street, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Ralph D. and Lela May Murray Rumsey, she was born June 10, 1943 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a homemaker and a member of Hill Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Terrell Smith and by her twin sister, Flora May Rumsey Pless in 2011.

Survivors include two daughters and sons- in-law, Robbie and Tony Garrett of Toccoa, Georgia and Rita and William Alley of Lakemont, Georgia; son, Jason Ray Smith of Toccoa, Georgia; three grandsons; two brothers, Bobby Rumsey and Carlton Rumsey both of Toccoa; four sisters, Grace Coffee, Ruth Gailey, Willie Jean Wilbanks and Shirley Ridley all of Toccoa, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Saturday, November 23, 2 O'clock PM at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Paul Garrison officiating.

The family will be at the home of Shirley Ridley, 239 Elberton Street, Toccoa and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will follow in the Toccoa City Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Gloria May Rumsey Smith.
