Paul Hix

Paul Hix, age 80, of Alto, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.

Mr. Hix was born on August 20, 1933, in Gainesville, Georgia; son of the late Tom and Clara Loggins Hix. He was also preceded in death by his wife Betty Wade Hix; brothers, Woodrow Hix, Guy Hix and Cohen Hix. Mr. Hix was of the Methodist faith and was retired with the City of Baldwin as a Water Superintendent with 18 years of service.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Mike Thomas, Homer; daughter, Sue Smith, Alto; son, Edward Hix, Baldwin; sisters, Dorothy Haynes, Alto, Mazelle Martin, Alto; brothers, J.C. Hix, Alto, Rev. Silas Hix, Alto; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 22, 2013 at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, Georgia with Rev. Silas Hix and Rev. Junior Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Living Mission United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 and from 2-4 and 6-8 on Thursday, November 21, 2013.
