Wirtha Morgan

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Wirtha Morgan, age 86 of Cleveland. Wirtha passed away peacefully Saturday, November 16, 2013.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Wednesday, November 20, at Mossy Creek United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Landen and Rev. Nanci Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Wirtha was born in White County on November 1, 1927 to the late Wiley Meaders and Ruth Kincaid Meaders. She loved her God, her church and her family. Some her of fondest moments were those when she was spending time with her kids and serving as "Mom" to the friends of her children and those in the community and in her church, Mossy Creek United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Wirtha is preceded in death by her husband's Dennis Jones and Clark Morgan as well as her brother, Christopher Meaders.

Survivors include her son and daughter in law, Emory and Judy Jones of Cleveland, son, Kelvin Morgan, Bangkok, Thailand; daughters and sons in law, Alice and Ron Cholaj of Flowery Branch and Freda and Jeff McAvoy of Clermont; sisters, Lenore Chambers of Clermont and Barbara Allison of Cleveland; brother, Ray Meaders of Cleveland. Wirtha is also survived by her sisters in law, Evelyn Jones, Thelma Jones and Betty Tapp, her grandsons, Seth McAvoy and Ethan McAvoy and host of nephews and nieces and many dear and special friends.

The family would like to thank Kathy Eggerton and Ollies Personal Care Home for their compassion and care for Wirtha during her stay.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
