Sammy Lane Peck Saxon

Mrs. Sammy Lane Peck Saxon of Gainesville, Ga. passed away Friday November 15, 2013 at the age of 92 after declining health.

Born in Lumpkin County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bessie Leola Duckett Peck. She was a homemaker and a member of Murrayville Congregational Holiness Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Shorty" Saxon; brothers, Paul Peck, Jewell Peck, Henry Peck, Hugh Peck; sister, Jackie Bird.


Mrs. Saxon is survived by her daughter and son in law, Carolyn and Verlyn Perry of Jefferson; grandson, VC Perry of Jefferson; granddaughters, Gwenn and Larry Evans of Royston, Sherry and Thomas Jourdan of Vinita, OK; great grandchildren, Ashleigh Evans Burton and Matthew Burton, Stephanie Jourdan, Alexis Jourdan, Eli Evans, Grayson Evans Ou Li Jourdan; great-great grandchildren, Joseph Burton, Adrian Burton.

Funeral services were held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday November 16, 2013 in the Chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Thomas Jourdan will officiate. Interment was in the Murrayville Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.
