Retired Tech Sgt. James Felton Cronic, 83, of Commerce, GA died Friday, November 8, 2013. He was preceded in death by parents, Grady and Gertrude Cronic; and brother, Horace Frank Cronic.
He is survived by sister, Louise Cronic Grosh and husband Henry, of Tucker, GA; twin brother, Welton Cronic, Commerce, GA; nieces, Esther Grosh Yute, Rebekah Yute, Tamra Grosh, Wanda Cronic Sales, and husband Kenneth, Karen Cronic Baker, and husband Todd, Lisa Cronic Goines, and husband Phillip, Amanda Hood Robinson and husband Caleb, nephews, Jonathan Grosh, Caleb Grosh, Joshua Kevin Grosh, Joshua Alan Yute, Jason Warner.
Retired Tech Sgt. Cronic was born March 4, 1930 in Commerce, GA. He was a 1947 graduate of Commerce High School. He served his country for twenty-two years in the U.S. Air Force, in top secret assignment at Los Alamos Scientific Laboratory; Underground Pentagon at Site R, NORAD Air Defense Command. In Vietnam he was in charge of collecting Air Force Activity each day and sending it directly to President Lyndon B. Johnson and McNamara every morning. "James Felton Cronic was a man whose life was distinguished by honesty and integrity and went home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ."
Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 11, 2013 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with Brian Maguire officiating. Interment will follow at Duncan Creek Congregational Church Cemetery, Buford, GA.
