Bill Ward of Gillsville, Ga. passed away Wednesday November 6, 2013 at the age of 87 after a period of declining health.
Born on October 12, 1926, in Maysville, GA., he had worked at Slacks Auto Parts and then retired from A&L Welding after working there for a number of years where he was a supervisor/manager. He was in choir at Holly Springs Methodist Church where he was also a member. He served as a commissioner from 1977 until 1979 for the Hall County Commission. Mr. Ward served in the United States Navy.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Johnnie Randolph Ward of Gillsville; brother, Charles Ward of Goose Creek, S.C.; nieces, Patricia Ward Allen of Gainesville, Reba Ward of Lexington, SC, Connie Ward Lichty of Flowery Branch, GA, Charlotte Ward Mixson of Summerville, SC and a number of great nieces and great nephews and other members also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday November 9, 2013 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Cameron will officiate. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Friday November 8, 2013 from 6-8 p.m.
