Myrtle Elaine Gay

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mrs. Myrtle Elaine Appel Gay, age 73, of Jefferson, Georgia, (South Jackson Community), who passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Mrs. Gay was born in Baltimore, Maryland, the daughter of the late Leo Fredrick Appel and the late Georgia McFarland Appel, was a homemaker and a member of the First Pentecostal Church of Athens.

Mrs. Gay is survived by her husband, Charles Ronald Gay, Sr. of Jefferson, son and daughter in law Reverend Charles A. Gay, Jr. and Brenda of Jefferson, Sisters, Ina Rae Poling, Carolyn Meagher, Patty Maddy and brothers Leo Appel and Johnny Appel, all of Cumberland, Maryland. Grandchildren, Christopher Gay and Brittany Dorman, Great Grandchildren, Joseph Gay, Kaven Howard and Israel Howard.

Funeral services will be held 6:00 P.M. Monday, November 11, 2013 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Cole officiating. No public visitation is planned. Burial will take place on 11:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia.
