Hilder Elizabeth Palmer Watkins

Mrs. Hilder Elizabeth Palmer Watkins, age 89 of Nicholson died Saturday, November 02, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Watkins was born in Nicholson to the late, William Oscar and Annie Sue Barnett Palmer. Mrs. Watkins was a Christian, member of River of Life Worship Center where she was also the church secretary, and worked for the Jackson Hearld as the correspondent for the Nicholson news. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watkins was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Pete Watkins, Sr.

Mrs. Watkins is survived by her sons, Don Watkins (Deborah) of Commerce, Lamar and Bryan Watkins both of Nicholson; granddaughters, Erin and Ashley Watkins both of Commerce; brother, John Palmer of Nicholson; sisters, Myrtle Fouche of Nicholson, Lottie Grace Moore of Clearwater, FL, Ruby Borkman of Alpharetta, and Linda Middleton of Orange Beach, AL; a special friend and caretaker Mary Wilson.

Funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 4 at 2:00 PM from River of Life Worship Center with Rev. Bobby Ivester, Rev. Dennis Kesler, and Rev. Howard Rhodes officiating with the interment following in Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday night from 5-8 PM.
