Janice C. Loebl

Mrs. Janice C. Loebl, age 91, of Gainesville passed away Friday, November 1, 2013 at Dogwood Forest.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert J. Loebl; and her son, David J. Loebl.

She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Thomas & Sharon Loebl of San Antonio, Texas; daughter & son-in-law, Patricia & Jimmy Barrett of Flowery Branch; daughter & son-in-law, Virginia & Thomas Crowder of St. Pete Beach, Florida; son & daughter-in-law, James & Trischa Loebl of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin; 13 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.

Janice was a 1943 graduate from Marquette University and a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Prior to moving to Gainesville, Janice was a Speech Pathologist for the Pinellas County School System in St. Petersburg, Florida. Janice moved to Gainesville in 1968 with her husband, where he was an assistant professor at Gainesville Junior College. Janice established and directed the Speech Pathology Program for the Hall County School System prior to her retirement in 1986. Janice was very active in numerous church, civic, and community services. She was also on the first board of directors for the Hall County Credit Union. Janice attended St. Michael's Catholic Church where she was an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion to the Homebound until age 85.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Monsignor Jaime Barona will preside.
