Georgia Leona (Dolly) Jackson

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death of Mrs. Georgia Leona "Dolly" Jackson, age 94 of Lula. Mrs. Jackson passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her residence following a period of declining health.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00pm, Saturday, November 1, 2013 from Holly Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Forrester, Rev. William Baker and Rev. Scott Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

"Dolly" as she was affectionately known was born in Hall County on June 24, 1919 to the late Benjiman Hill Oliver and Oma Wiley Oliver. She loved her God, her family and singing in the choir at Holly Springs Baptist Church where she had been a member for several years. Dolly also had a special fondness for fishing and quilting. She is preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Columbus Jackson.

Survivors include her daughter, Susie Taylor opf Lula; son, Kenneth Jackson of Lula; sons and daughters, in law, Sandy and Libby Jackson of Clermont and Randy and Regina Jackson of Lula; special niece, Betty Wingo. The family also wishes to acknowledge Halcyon Hospice Nurses, Jill and Lori for their care and compassion.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm.
