Elsie Juanita Gunter

Elsie Juanita Gunter, age 77 of Lula, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at her daughter's residence following an extended illness.


The family will receive friends on Friday, November 1, 2013 from 2 - 5 pm & 6 - 8 pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home in Jamestown, Tennessee. Reverend Tim Reynolds will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2 - 3 pm, prior to the service at Jennings Funeral Home.


Mrs. Gunter was born October 1, 1936 in Jamestown, Tennessee to the late Hollis L. Davis and Susie Beaty Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church. Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Buster Gunter, her brother, Charles Davis and her sister, Bessie Smith.


Mrs. Gunter is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Cheryl & Mike Purcell of Mt. Airy, sons & daughters-in-law, David & Gwenn Gunter of Lula and Pat & Wendy Gunter of Winder, son, Steve Gunter of Lula, sisters, Effie Reynolds of Pall Mall, Tennessee and Jean Stewart of Jamestown, Tennessee, grandchildren, Michelle & Jennifer Purcell of Mt. Airy, Leana & Joseph Barrett of Mt. Airy, Zachary Gunter of Paris Island, South Carolina and Benjamin Gunter of Lula and a number of nieces and nephews.
