Herschel Forrest Scott

Mr. Herschel Forrest Scott, age 81, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013.

Herschel was born and raised in Alpharetta, GA, and had spent the last 20 years in Lumpkin County. He retired after 32 years as an electrician for Tingue Brown Company. He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and brother, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Scott was the son of the late Ralph and Lucile Garmon Scott, and was also preceded in death by his wife, Syble Scott; great granddaughter, Amber Norris; and son-in-law, Danny Jackson.

Herschel is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Tammy Scott, Dahlonega, GA; Miles and Penny Scott, Lula, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Ronnie Vaughan, Dahlonega, GA; daughters, Elaine Jackson, Dahlonega, GA, and Vickie Payne, Winder, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Sandra Scott, Winder, GA; and niece, Julie Fogg, Cumming, GA. 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

A graveside service for Herschel is scheduled for 11 AM Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, GA.

Grandson, Scotty Garner will officiate.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 5 PM until 9 PM on Tuesday, October 29, 2013.
