Carolyn Smith Pruett Banta

Carolyn Smith Pruett Banta, age 60, of Dahlonega, GA, passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013.

Carolyn was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County, a loving mother and grandmother. Working as an LPN at Gold City Convalescent Center, she had also furthered her schooling to become a Microcomputer Specialist. She was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church.

Mrs. Banta is preceded in death by her parents, Ance L. and Irene Gable Smith; son, Michael Ance Pruett; and grandparents, Rev. Charlie C. and Carrie Smith, and Lewis and Mamie Gable.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Mickey Pruett; daughter-in-law, Lynn Mayfield Pruett; brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Sherry Smith; and grandchildren, Harley Irene Pruett, James, Kimberly, and Johnathan Blackwell all of Dahlonega, GA. Several nieces and nephews and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Carolyn are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at the Banister Funeral Home Chapel in Dahlonega, GA.

Rev. Lyman Caldwell will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Mill Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Lumpkin County.

The family will receive friends at Banister Funeral Home in Dahlonega from 5 PM until 9 PM on Monday, October 28, 2013, and 10 AM until service time on Tuesday, October 29, 2013.
