John Robert Sharp, Jr

Mr. John Robert Sharp, Jr., age 88, of Hoschton passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Gwinnett Hospital System.



Services will be held at St. Brendans Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida at a later date.



Mr. Sharp was born February 9, 1925 to the late John Robert & Alma Augusta Sharp, Sr. in Englewood, New Jersey and was a retired Sales Rep for John R. Sharp Associates, Inc. He was an active member of St. Brendans Catholic Church in Clearwater, Florida for 25 years, where he served as an Usher. During his brief year (2012-2013) living in Deaton Creek he developed many friends and enjoyed being part of the Military Club, Bocce Club and attending Prince of Peace Catholic Church.



Mr. Sharp was the past President of Island Estates Civic Association, Sertoma Club and Tuesday Stag Luncheon Club. He enjoyed Equestrian activities such as working with handicap children in Therapeutic programs, was an avid golfer, enjoyed boating and served in many capacities of the Island Estate Yacht Club. He was also known for his Big Smile, Blue Eyes and sense of humor. Mr. Sharp was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane Susan Sharp, 6 years ago, of whom he was married to for 61 years; son Jeff Sharp; and grandchild, Broderick Manekin.



Survivors include: sons & daughters-in-law, John R. & Donna Sharp, III of Sorrento, Florida and R.J. & Phyllis Sharp of Manhatten Beach, California; daughter & son-in-law, Jane & Mark Gregg of Hoschton; daughter, Barbara Sharp of Middleburg, Virginia; 6 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
