Floyd Lee Sellers, Jr.

Floyd Lee Sellers, Jr., age 76, of Cornelia, lost his battle to cancer on October 19, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.

Born on March 20, 1937 in Habersham County, he was the only son of the late Floyd Lee Sellers, Sr. and Flora Belle Ansley Sellers.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sellers was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arlin and Cleo Jameson Franklin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years, Dorothy Franklin Sellers, of Cornelia; daughters, Karen Lewallen (Harold), Toccoa, Cindy Matthews (Todd), Clarkesville, and Fonda Lundy (Jon), Baldwin; granddaughters (his "little dolls"): Peyton Matthews, Hannah Lundy, and Sarah Lundy; and his precious grandsons, Parker Matthews and Evan Lewallen.

Mr. Sellers was of the Baptist faith. He served in the Army National Guard Reserve and retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather ("Pop"). His most enjoyable times were spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved spending time with his beloved family, traveling with his wife, and listening to Southern Gospel Music. His love for people and laughter will be remembered by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm, Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Grace Baptist Church, Cornelia, GA, with Rev. Jerrell Beatty, Rev. Roy Lee Mitchell, and Rev. Phillip Yarber officiating. Interment with Military Honors, provided by the Georgia National Guard, will follow in the Level Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Telford Tanksley officiating.

The family will receive friends Monday, October 21, 2013 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm at Hillside Memorial Chapel, Clarkesville, Georgia.
