Katherine Blanos

Katherine Blanos fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, October 19, 2013, at her home on 11220 Linbrook Lane in Johns Creek, GA.

She was born in Augusta, Georgia to the late James and Evanthea (Kalos) Blanos on February 9, 1922. She retired as an art illustrator from U. S. Army at Fort Gordon, GA. Katherine was a faithful member of Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church and was a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. Her parents, James George and Evanthea Kalos Blanos, her sisters, Helen Stathakis and Jean Kumpuris and brothers, George Blanos and Nicholas Blanos also preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memory; daughter, Evonthea Patrick and her husband John; her grandchildren, Marina Raymond and Jennifer Guano and her husband Robert; her great grandchildren, Abigail, Nathaniel, Juliana and Patrick; her brother, Patrick Blanos and his wife Tootsie of Pensacola, FL; and a host of extended family and friends, all who will miss her endearing smile and loving personality.

The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home at 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Georgia on Tuesday, October 22nd from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. The Trisagion service will be held at 6:30 pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd, at 10:00 am at Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church with burial to follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Fr. Barnabas Powell as celebrant.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Saints Raphael, Nicholas, and Irene Greek Orthodox Church building fund, 3074 Bethelview Road, Cumming, GA 30040.
