Joel Moyer

Alexander Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death Mr.Joel Henry Moyer of Cleveland, Georgia passed away Thursday, Oct 17, 2013 from extended illness. He was 78.



Joel was born on March 30, 1935, in Harrisburg, PA. To the late Leroy and Miriam (Loux) Moyer, of Telford, PA. He grew up in Souderton, PA.

Moved to South Florida where he worked for the United States Postal Service and Pepsi-Cola.

He also enjoyed working at the Miami-Hollywood Speedway/Sportatorium on the weekends.

Joel joined the United States Army and retired after 40 years of service with the rank of Chief Warrant Officer 5. He was a proud member of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years, Veteran of Foreign War, American Legion, and Disabled American Veterans.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years Joyce D. Moyer. Daughter Donna Moyer Scott w/husband Brad Scott of Miami, FL,

Daughter Audrey Moyer Puglisi of OKC, OK, Daughter Cynthia Moyer Troyer w/husband Garry Troyer of Miami, FL, Daughter Brenda Moyer of West Palm Beach, FL, with 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Stepdaughter Deborah Siebert of Cleveland, GA, Stepson William Martin w/wife Rosa of West Palm Beach, FL, Stepson Jeffery Martin of Cleveland, GA, Stepson Timothy Martin w/wife Missy of Dahlonega, GA, with 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are 4 sisters and 2 brothers

Jeanette Darrah, Joan Holmes, Juanita and Lincoln Freed, Judy Schnable, James and Joan Moyer, Jay Moyer

Along with several Nieces and Nephews

Joel is predeceased by his parents, son Bruce Moyer, grandson Michael Moyer, brother John Moyer, sister Jean Petrucci, and sister Joyce Featherstone, Stepson Randy Martin
