Dennis D. Lawson

Mr. Dennis D. Lawson, 93, of Gainesville, GA. passed away on Thursday, October 17, 2013 following a period of declining health. Born in Hall County on April 25, 1920, he was the son of the late Joseph Ernest and Eula Truelove Lawson.



He was a World War II Veteran having served in the Army where he received the Purple Heart and 3 Bronze Service Stars. He was also the minister of the Gospel. He was a retired Poultry Farmer and a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church.



In addition to his parents, Mr. Lawson is preceded in death by his wife, Winnie Lee Peck Lawson.



He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Mike and Connie Lawson; granddaughter and husband, Ashley and Greg Elrod; granddaughter, Brandy Thomas; great grandchildren, Morgan Elrod, Addyson Elrod, Hannah Thomas, Katelyn Thomas all of Gainesville and lifelong best friend, Lee Cain of Clermont.





Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday October 19, 2013 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home. Rev. Kyle Savage, Rev. Bill Lawson and Rev. Steve Baker will officiate. Interment will follow in the Dewberry Baptist Church #2 Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Little & Davenport Funeral Home Friday October 18, 2103 from 4-8 p.m.
