Bertha H. Parker, 85, of Buford, GA, arrived in the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 5:55 pm. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James "Carl" Parker, her mother, Emma Goss Hubbard, her father, Clifford Hubbard, and a precious brother Marion J "Bubba" Hubbard. She is survived by her children, Ricky and Sandra Parker, Hoschton, GA; Terry and Letsa Parker, Gainesville, GA; Shirley and Vernon "Buck" Fields, San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Jamie Fields (Dee), Van Parker (Jody), Brandy Fields, Toby Parker, Justin Hulett, great-grandchildren, Jacob Fields, Caleb Parker, Noah and Hannah Parker, Taylor Fields, Connor Hulett, KC Parker, older sister, Lillian Sims, Augusta, GA; sisters-in-law, Shirley Mae Carey, Commerce, GA; Willie Bell Vanderford, Commerce, GA; Nancy Lou Maynard, Commerce, GA; Ondine Terrell Parker, Sugar Hill, GA; many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Mrs. Parker was born September 4, 1928 in Greensboro, GA. She was a 1945 graduate of Greensboro High School. She was a retired supervisor from Lovable Company, Buford, GA; and a member of Mt. Salem Baptist Church, Flowery Branch. She was a feisty woman in a small package. She worked and loved hard her whole life. She especially loved her husband Carl, whom she married on April 18, 1946. They were married for forty-three years when he passed away tragically at age 67. Bertha dearly loved going to church (when she was able) and loved her church family and her pastors. She will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her. Funeral service will be 11:00 am Saturday, October 12, 2013 with remains to lie in state at 10:00am; at Mt. Salem Baptist Church, 6152 Mt. Salem Circle, Flowery Branch, GA 30542, with Rev. Clyde Self, Rev. Larry Peace, and Rev. Paul Wade officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens, Buford, GA. The family will receive friends, Thursday, October 10, 2013 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Friday October 11, 2013, 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
