Mrs. Melinda Ethel Simpson McIntyre, age 88 of 1020 Jordan Road, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Monday, October 7, 2013 at Heritage Healthcare of Toccoa.
A daughter of the late Harrison and Martha Beck Simpson, she was born January 6, 1925 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a member of Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McIntyre in 1977, by a daughter Gloria Higgins and by a step-daughter, Irene Mitchell.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Talmadge Pace of Eastanollee, Joyce Finley and Emily and Tony Banks both of Toccoa and Dianne and Dean Dills of Clarkesville; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Jeannie and Edmund Smith of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 11, 11 O'clock AM at the Rock Quarry Congregational Holiness Church with the Reverend John Umberhant and the Reverend Edward Hood officiating.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and should assemble at the funeral home by 10:00 AM, James Pace, Matthew Pace, Tim Pace, David Gibson, Michael Gibson and Benny Brown.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 PM to 8 PM.
Interment will follow in Roselane Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mrs. Ethel Simpson McIntyre.
