Edgar Wayne Davis

Mr. Edgar Wayne Davis, age 77 of 2268 Talmadge Drive, Toccoa, Georgia passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his residence.

A son of the late Lawrence Franklin and Mary Simpson Davis, he was born February 18, 1936 in Nashville, Tennessee, having lived in Nashville and Fort Lauderdale and the last 30 years in Habersham County. He was a U.S. Navy Korean War Veteran, Owner and Operator of Ed's Barbecue for a number of years and a member of Antioch Baptist Church where he served as the Assistant Sunday School Teacher for the Men's Class.

Survivors include his wife of the home, Lelanda English Davis; daughter, Kelly Davis of Nashville, Tennessee; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Jan Davis and Michael Davis both of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James Franklin Davis and Gail of Robbinsville, North Carolina; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn Davis Barmes and Vernon of Robbinsville, North Carolina; mother-in-law, Betty English of Toccoa.

Funeral services will be Thursday, October 10, 2 O'clock PM at Antioch Baptist Church with the Reverend Brian Stephens and the Reverend Jerry Mize officiating.

The family will be at the home on Talmadge Drive and will receive friends at Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6 PM to 8 PM.

Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery with Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Edgar Wayne Davis.
